Mia the Hedgehog
It was a hot summer afternoon on the
13th of March. Some say 13 is an unlucky number, and it sure was
unlucky for this poor little hedgehog lying in the sun with flies
buzzing around it. My brother saw it and helped me move it to the shade.
He then got a drink bottle full of water to help feed it, with Lucy,
who lived in a street nearby. We spent the whole afternoon looking after
it, and Lucy and I took it to the vet's later on with her mum. The
hedgehog, which we decided to call Mia, had a bad case of mange, which
is a disease that hedgehogs can get. On Thursday, the day after we found
Mia, Lucy broke the news to me that she had to be put down, because the
case was too serious. R.I.P Mia, we will never forget you.
